association was formed and the International Table Tennis Federation was

formed in 1926.

The parent body here in Nigeria is known as the Nigeria Table Tennis

Association. The game has been kept going since its inclusion in the

Olympics games. It is has also been played at the Commonwealth, Asian,

All African, etc Games Competitions

NATURE OF THE TABLE TENNIS GAME

The object is to hit the ball so that it goes over the net and bounces

on the opponent's half of the table in such a way that the opponent

cannot reach it or return it correctly. The lightweight hollow ball is

propelled back and forth across the net by small rackets (bats, or paddles)

held by the players.
