EXPLICIT INSTRUCTION/TEACHER MODELLING

The teacher further explains how the present perfect tense is formed

We form the present perfect tense by adding the simple present tense of the state-of-being verb have(which must agree with the subject) to the past participle form of the verb being used. Remember that the form taken by a past participle verb depends on whether it is a regular or an irregular verb.

If the subject is i/we/you/they we use ‘have’, If it is he/she/it, we use ‘has’.
