Channels of Distribution – Producer/Manufacturer, Wholesaler, Retailer, and Consumer

  1. Producer/Manufacturer:

   - The originator of goods or products.

   - Responsibilities include production, quality control, and initial distribution to wholesalers or retailers.

  1. Wholesaler:

   - Intermediary between producers and retailers or other businesses.

   - Buys goods in bulk from manufacturers and sells smaller quantities to retailers.

   - Provides storage, transportation, and sometimes marketing support to manufacturers.

  1. Retailer:

   - Sells goods directly to consumers.

   - Operates physical stores, online platforms, or both.

   - Provides convenience, product selection, and customer service to end-users.

  1. Consumer:

   - End-user or final buyer of goods or services.

   - Purchases products for personal use or consumption.

Agents involved in Distribution

I.) Brokers: Facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers without taking ownership of goods.
