When you say /ᵊᶷ/, your tongue starts from its central and relaxed position where /ᵊ/ is produced and then moves upwards and back in order to pronounce /ᵊᶷ/. Your lips are neutral at the beginning in order to say /ᵊ/ and then your lips change shape slightly rounded to say /ᶷ/
