Importance of Literature

1.   Literature serves as a means of learning English Language. As you learn literature, you improve generally in your use of English Language. This is why teachers of English advise students and even adults who are weak in English language to read a lot of works of literature

2.   Literature is a means of preserving the culture and history of a people. Through literature, you learn about your history and culture and that of other people as well.

3.   Literature is entertaining. You enjoy the stories, poems and plays you read at school and at your leisure

4.   Literature is educative. By reading literary words, children as well as adults acquire education academically, socially and morally
