RESCUE OPERATION

Rescue operations refer to coordinated efforts and activities undertaken to save individuals or animals from perilous or life-threatening situations. These situations may include natural disasters, accidents, or emergencies. Rescue operations involve trained personnel using specialized equipment and techniques to locate, assist, and safely extract individuals in distress, often in challenging or hazardous environments. The primary goal is to save lives and alleviate suffering during critical situations.

Aspects of rescue operation

There are three aspects of rescue operation.

  1. Securing the Environment
  2. Securing the Vehicle.
  3. Securing the Victims.

Steps Involved in securing the Environment

The following are steps to take why securing the Environment

  1. Identify your location
  2. Call for rescue unit immediately or dial 999.
  3. Protect the scene.
  4. Don't cause another collision, park your car beyond the accident.
  5. Turn on your emergency flashers.
  6. Stop other road users.

Steps involved in securing the Vehicle.

  1. Call an ambulance service by dialing 999
  2. Speak clear and be concise.
  3. Tell the operator your name, phone number and exact location.
  4. Explain what happened
  5. Follow operators’ instructions.

Steps involves in securing the victim.

  1. Don't move the victim if they are not in immediate danger.
  2. If the victim is in an emergency situation, move him with great caution to avoid worsening of the injury on the body.
  3. Do not move victim if there might be a spinal injury.
  4. In cold weather, cover the victim with thick cloth.
  5. Be kind and understanding.
  6. Help bleeding victim to stop bleeding first.
