BRIEF HISTORY OF FOOTBALL
The game originated from Greece and was obtained by the Romans and passed on to England.
Initially the game of football was crude but in 1848, the advocates of football met in Cambridge to draw up list of rules which became known as the Cambridge rules. In 1863, this group formed a football association called London Football Association. This body existed until the formation of the Federation of International Football(FIFA) in 1904.
In Nigeria, we have various local clubs and national teams such as super eagles, flying eagles, the eaglets(male teams), the falcons and falconettes(female teams).
DESCRIPTION OF A FOOTBALL GAME
Soccer is a team sports played by 11 players(males or females) on each sides of the opposite team. One of each team must be the goalkeeper.
In a game of football, each players seek to advance a round inflated leather or (rubber ball) toward and between an opponent’s goal post and under the crossbar, by ether kicking, dribbling or pushing it with any part of the body except with arms or hands, goal keepers excluded.
