Uses of the Rows Keys

The rows on a keyboard serve different purposes and contain specific types of keys:

  1. Top Row (Function Row or Number Row):

   - Contains function keys (F1 to F12) used for shortcuts and commands in software applications.

   - Number keys (1 to 0) are also located in this row, providing quick access for numeric input.

  1. Number Row (Top Alphanumeric Row):

   - Contains primary alphanumeric keys (QWERTYUIOP) along with numbers (1 to 0) and special characters accessible with Shift.

  1. Home Row:

   - Designed for resting fingers between typing. Includes keys (ASDF for the left hand and JKL; for the right hand) that are the base positions for fingers during touch typing.

  1. Bottom Row (Spacebar Row):

   - Includes the spacebar for inserting spaces between words.

   - Contains modifier keys like Ctrl, Alt, and Windows key (on Windows keyboards), along with arrow keys for navigation and other utility keys.

The four main rows on a standard keyboard are:

  1. Top Row (Function Row or Number Row):

   - Contains function keys (F1 to F12) and number keys (1 to 0).

   - Contains primary alphanumeric keys (QWERTYUIOP) along with numbers (1 to 0) and special characters accessible with Shift.  

  1. Home Row:

  2. Functional Section: This section includes keys used for various functions beyond typing alphanumeric characters.
