NOTE

CITIZENSHIP

Citizenship means membership of a country based on laid down conditions

HOW TO BECOME A NIGERIAN CITIZEN

  1. by birth- if a person is born in or outside Nigeria and one or both of the

Parents are citizens, then the person becomes a citizen

  1. By registration- this applies to people who register to become citizens

either a foreigner married to a Nigerian or a foreigner adopted by a

Nigerian citizen

  1. By naturalization- This is when a person desires to be a citizen of Nigeria

via a formal application.

  1. By conferment: this citizenship occurs as a result of good behaviour or a

spectacular achievement and contributions to Nigeria

These are the things by which Nigeria can be identified and recognized all

over the world

  1. Nigerian map
  2. the national flag- green and white
  3. Nigeria coat of arms

Black shield- good soil of Nigeria

Y shaped silver wavy band- two main rivers of Nigeria

Two Horses – dignity and pride of Nigeria

Coctus spectabilis- beauty of Nigeria

Wreath- rich agricultural land of Nigeria

Eagle- strength, gallantry and pride of a united Nigeria
