FACTORS OF PRODUCTION

Production can be defined as activities that involve the creation of goods and provision of services to satisfy human want.

Factors that affect production include

LAND

Land refers to all the natural resources available for production purposes such as lakes, forests, mineral deposits etc. The return of land is called RENT

Characteristics of Land

  1. it cannot be replaced once exhausted
  2. it is subject to diminishing returns
  3. it is free

 

Features of Land

  1. it is a gift of nature
  2. it is immobile
  3. the return on land is RENT
