Homonyms are words that are spelt the same way, sound the same but are different in meaning.

 

Examples include

1. Date(Noun): What is today’s date?

Date(verb): I told Adetola to sign and date the document

2. Bear(Noun): The bear is a wild animal

Bear(Verb): I refuse to bear the burden alone

Other examples of words that are homonyms include

Share, table, wet, doubt, blow, account, mean, book, swim, mirror, yield, fine, reply etc
