RECREATION, LEISURE AND DANCE

Recreation is an activity voluntarily engaged in during leisure hours motivated by personal satisfactions that comes from it.

KINDS OF RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
1. INACTIVE/PASSIVE: in this case, the participant is not actively part of the recreational activity e.g watching the television or a soccer match

  1. CREATIVE: This is when the person is engaged in works of art e.g gardening and hand craft
  2. ACTIVE: This involves active participation e.g playing football

COMPONENTS OF RECREATION

  1. INDOOR RECREATION: These are activities carried out in a closed area or under a roof e.g card games, chess, monopoly, ludo, table tennis, draft etc
  2. OUTDOOR RECREATION: These are activities carried out outside or in an open place e.g hunting, soccer, camping, swimming, hiking etc
