Features of Myths 1. Myths are magical: It can be exciting and enjoyable in strange ways. The characters may have special powers that make them do the impossible. 2. Myths are supernatural: myths are impossible to explain by natural causes. They seem to involve the powers of gods or magic 3. Myths are superstitious: Some myths are based on superstitions which is not based on scientific knowledge or human reason but on old ideas of magic
Legends Legends are old, well-known stories, often about brave characters may be human or non-human objects such as streams, hills, rocks and trees. The characters have played heroic roles in the past and are now worshipped as gods. Examples are: 1. “The Legend of Moremi of Ife” 2. “The Osun River in Osogbo”
