NOTE

BOARD PRACTICE 1.

Setting drawing paper on the drawing board

To set a drawing paper on a drawing board, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare the Drawing Board: Ensure your drawing board is clean and free of any debris. Place it on a stable surface.
  2. Select Your Paper: Choose the type and size of paper you want to use for your drawing. Make sure it fits the dimensions of your drawing board.
  3. Position the Paper: Place the paper on the drawing board, aligning it with the edges. Use masking tape or drafting tape to secure the paper to the board, ensuring it doesn't move while you draw.
  4. Tape the Edges: Gently tape all four edges of the paper to the drawing board. Be careful not to stretch the paper too tightly, as it might warp.

Sharpening  pencil to a conical point and knife edge.

In order to sharpen a pencil to a conical point and a knife edge, the following steps should be adopted for each of them.

Conical Point.

  1. Use a Quality Pencil Sharpener: Choose a good-quality pencil sharpener. Place the pencil in the sharpener and rotate it to sharpen the wood casing evenly.
  2. Hold the Pencil at an Angle: Tilt the pencil slightly while sharpening to achieve a conical point. Rotate the pencil to maintain an even shape.
  3. Check the Sharpness: Periodically check the point's sharpness by gently feeling it with your fingers. Stop sharpening when you achieve the desired conical shape.

Knife Edge.

  1. Choose a Craft Knife or Razor Blade: For a knife edge, you'll need a sharp craft knife or a razor blade.
  2. Trim the Wood: Hold the pencil firmly and use the knife to trim away the wood casing. Rotate the pencil to maintain an even edge.
  3. Shape the Graphite: Carefully shape the exposed graphite to create a fine, knife-like edge. Make slow, controlled motions to avoid breakage.
  4. Smooth the Edge: If needed, gently sand the graphite edge with fine sandpaper to create a smooth, sharp point.

Using Drawing Instruments to Draw Boarder Lines, Parallel Lines, Vertical Lines, Title Block.

Procedure

  1. Border Lines:

   - Use a T-square for drawing horizontal lines.

   - Align the T-square with the edge of the paper to ensure straight border lines.

  1. Parallel Lines:

   - To draw parallel lines, use a drawing board, T-square, and triangle.

   - Align the T-square parallel to the edge of the drawing board for horizontal lines.

   - Use triangles for vertical or inclined parallel lines.

  1. Vertical Lines:

   - A T-square can help draw vertical lines when its edge is perpendicular to the drawing board's edge.

  1. Title Block:

   - Reserve a section on your drawing for the title block.

   - Use a T-square and triangles to create neat, straight lines for the title block borders.

EVALUATION: 1. Using your drawing instruments, drawing a horizontal line

  1. Without touching your drawing materials, state the procedure for setting a drawing paper on the drawing board.

CLASSWORK: As in evaluation

CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the students positively
