SOCIALIZATION

Socialization is the lifelong processes through which a person acquires

knowledge, language, skills and values necessary for functioning as

a member of his or her society

 

AGENTS OF SOCIALIZATION

1. family- it is the first and most important agent of socialization of all

human beings

2. School- it is the second most important agent of socialization as the

education a child receives in school moulds his or her ideas and attitudes

3. Religious organizations and institutions
4. Peer group or age grade- this is simply the group of friends closest to th

child

5. Mass media includes television, radio, internet and films
6. Clubs and societies
7. Government
