TYPES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE COMPUTER

TYPES OF COMPUTER

  1. Personal Computer (PC): Typically used by individuals for personal tasks, such as browsing the internet, word processing, gaming, etc.
  2. Workstation: High-performance computers used for specialized tasks like graphic design, engineering simulations, and scientific calculations.
  3. Server: Computers designed to provide services or resources to other computers over a network, such as hosting websites, managing emails, or storing data.
  4. Mainframe: Powerful computers capable of handling large volumes of data processing for enterprise-level applications like banking, finance, and government operations.
  5. Embedded Systems: Computers integrated into other devices or systems to perform specific functions, like controlling machinery, managing traffic signals, or operating appliances.
  6. Supercomputer: Extremely powerful computers used for complex computations in scientific research, weather forecasting, and simulations.
