GENERATION OF COMPUTERS

5th Generation of Computer (1980 to till date)

These are computers from 1980 to date. It uses Ultra Large Scale Integration (ULSI) technology. It supports Parallel processing hardware and Artificial Intelligence (AI) software.

It support all the high-level languages like

  1. C ii. C++ iii. Java.Net etc

Examples are;

  1. Desktop
  2. Laptop
  3. Notebook
  4. Ultra-book
  5. Chrome-book etc

FEATURES OR CHARACTERISTICS

  1. Based on ULSI (Ultra Large Scale Integration) technology
  2. True artificial intelligence
  3. Multimedia features
  4. Development of Natural language processing
  5. More user-friendly interface
  6. Advancement in Parallel Processing
  7. Advancement in Superconductor technology
  8. Faster Solid State Drive (SSD) memory and It is faster than Hard Disk Drives (HDD).
  9. Availability of very powerful and compact computers at cheaper rates.
