GENERATION OF COMPUTERS
Fourth (4th) Generation Computers (1972-1980)
These are computers from 1972-1980. It is based on Very Large Scale Integrated (VLSI) circuits. It supported time-sharing, real-time networks, and distributed operating systems.
All the high-level languages like i. C, ii. C++ iii. DBASE etc. were used in this generation. It uses semiconductor memory such as RAM (Random Access Memory) and ROM (Read Only Memory) etc.
