SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHILE PERFORMING EXERCISES

  1. Take 5 to 10 minutes to carry out light warm up exercises
  2. Start slowly and gradually increase the activity level
  3. Beware that training too hard may lead to injuries, sore joints and muscles. A mix of different activities and sufficient rest intervals is safer
  4. Do not exercise when you are sick or fatigued.
  5. If you’ve stopped exercising for a while, drop back to a lower level of exercise initially and gradually increase it.
  6. Simply drinking plenty of water may be insufficient for some people. Choose drinks that replace fluids plus essential electrolytes
  7. Choose clothes suitable and designed for the type of exercise you are engaging in
  8. For weight lifting, grow from lighter weights to heavier ones
  9. For colder weathers, dress properly to avoid hypothermia
