VALUES
LEVELS OF MANIFESTATION OF VALUES

There are various levels of manifestation of values in the individual, community and society as a whole;

  1. Manifestation of values in the individual÷ this is a value system that an individual has that makes him concentrate on important and worthwhile activities. Values, affect his or her decision making as well as relationship with opposite sex. The type of value system one has acquired determines how one relates with others e.g one who lives a just life will likely relates with just people. Our personal values affect our choices of career and the educational institutions we will attend after secondary schools. Even in school, it is still our personal values that determine whether we are to be involved in cultism, smoking, drinking or joining of bad gang.
  2. Manifestation of values to the society÷ societal values are norms, beliefs and principles which society has tested and approved and expect from its members. A society has laws, rules and regulations that control the conducts of its members. So especially the youth, are regarded as the life wire or "pillar" of the society and are expected to cherish the values of the society
