NOTE ON BOARD:

  • Proper fraction: numerator < denominator → 2/3
  • Improper: numerator > denominator → 5/4
  • Unit fraction: numerator = 1 → 1/5

CLASSWORK:

  1. Define proper and improper fractions
  2. Give 2 examples of each

  1. Write 5 fractions seen in daily life
  2. Classify each as proper or improper
  3. Draw any 2
