INTRODUCTION

1.   Some irregular nouns change the final “y” to “ies”. Examples are

Exceptions:

2.   Some irregular nouns add “en” and “ren”. Examples are

a.   Child-children

b.   Ox-oxen

3.   Some irregular nouns change the final ‘f’ or ‘fe’ to ‘ve’ and then add ‘s’. Examples are

a.   Knife-knives

b.   Leaf-leaves

c.   Loaf-loaves

d.   Half-halves

Exceptions:

a.   Cliff-cliffs

b.   Roof-roofs

c.   Dwarf-dwarfs
