NOTE

FORMS OF AGRICULTURE

  1. CROP PRODUCTION: This involves the growing of crops both for

consumption and sales. Some of the crops grown are cereals, legumes,

latex, tubers, pulses, nuts etc

  1. LIVESROCK FARMING: it involves the rearing of various farm animals

e.g goats, sheep, cow, poultry etc and their products e.g eggs, meat, wool,

milk, Cheese etc

  1. HORTICULURE: it is the raising of fruits(ranges, pawpaw, mango etc ),

vegetables(cabbage, lettuce, pumpkin leaf etc) and ornamental Plants(lily,

morning glory, sunflower etc). forms of horticulture include

  1. floriculture- production and marketing of flowers
  2. landscape horticulture- production, marketing and maintenance of

landscape plants

  1. pomology – production and marketing of fruits
