A Countable noun is the name of a thing that can be counted or divided into singular or plural. Examples include student, book, pen, photograph, woman, studio etc

 

An uncountable nouns is the name of a thing that cannot be counted or divided into singular and plural. Examples include milk, rice, coffee, oxygen, liberty etc

The teacher then explains how some singular nouns can become plural

1.   By adding the letter “s”. Examples are

a.   Car- cars

b.   rose- roses

c.   dog – dogs

3.   Some irregular nouns change the vowel sound within the word
