THE CREATION STORY

Creation is the act of bringing something into existence from nothing. In the biblical creation story, it describes how God created the heavens, the earth, and all living things within a span of seven days:

  • Day 1: God created light, separating it from darkness. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night."
  • Day 2: God created the sky, forming a separation between the waters above and below.
  • Day 3: God gathered the waters, allowing dry land to appear. He then created plants, grass, and trees.
  • Day 4: God placed the sun, moon, and stars in the sky to give light and mark time.
  • Day 5: God filled the waters with fish and the sky with birds.
  • Day 6: God created land animals, and finally, He created humans in His own image.
  • Day 7: God rested, blessing the day and making it holy.

Reasons Why God Created Human Beings

  • To Reflect His Image: Humans were created to reflect God’s own image and likeness, giving them a unique role among creation.
  • For Fellowship and Relationship: God created humans to have a loving relationship with Him and to communicate with Him.
  • To Steward the Earth: Humans were entrusted with the responsibility to care for and manage the earth and its creatures.
  • To Glorify God: Humanity was created to honor, worship, and bring glory to God

SONGS ABOUT CREATION

"The Creation Song"
(Tune: “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”)

Verse 1:
On the first day, God made light,
Separated dark from bright.
Day and night would always be,
In His hands, for all to see.
God said, "Let there be light!"
And the world was filled with sight.

Verse 2:
On the second, skies so blue,
God made clouds and waters too.
All creation took its place,
As He shaped this wondrous space.
God made skies and seas so blue,
For the world to start anew.

Verse 3:
On the third day, land appeared,
Grass and trees both far and near.
Flowers bloomed, and fruits were sweet,
All of life at God’s heartbeat.
Plants and trees grew everywhere,
From His love and tender care.

Verse 4:
On the fourth day, sun and moon,
Stars that twinkle, night and noon.
God made seasons come and go,
Day and night He made them so.
Sun by day and moon by night,
Guiding us with warmth and light.

Verse 5:
On the fifth, birds filled the sky,
Fish in seas would swim nearby.
Wings to soar and fins to glide,
In the waters deep and wide.
Birds and fish, so wild and free,
God’s design for all to see.

Verse 6:
On the sixth day, animals,
Roamed the fields and mountains tall.
Last, He made both you and me,
In His image, perfectly.
God made all we hear and see,
And He said, “Come live with me.”

Verse 7:
On the seventh day, God rested,
All was good and well-blessed.
Now we sing and praise His name,
Thankful for the world He made.
From the skies down to the sea,
God made all for you and me!
