1.   Common nouns: a common noun is a name given to every person or thing of the same class or kind. Examples of common nouns are boy, woman, teacher, traveller, city etc

2.   Collective nouns: A collective noun is the name of collection of things or persons. Examples are crowd, mob, team, block, herd, army, nation, poultry etc.

3.   Abstract nouns: An abstract noun is the name of a quality, action or state. Examples are liberty, thought, joy, death, love, truth, beauty etc
