WHAT IS TECHNOLOGY?

Technology can be defined as the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes. It's the collection of tools, methods, and systems used to solve problems and achieve goals. Technology has played a major role in shaping human history, from the invention of the wheel to the development of computers and the internet.

 Technology can be broken down into different categories, such as information technology, communications technology, and industrial technology.

Technology related professions

There a lot of technology related professions to choose from irrespective of gender or age. Below are some of the professions in the technological industry.

  1. Engineering: Electrical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, Agricultural engineering, building engineering, etc
  2. Information Communication and Technology (ICT): IT consultant, Web design, web development, Data scientist, software development, computer system analyst.
  3. Building profession: Surveyor, architecture, Masonry etc.
  4. Space: astronaut, physicist, robotic engineering.

Importance of Technology

Technology is important for many reasons. Below are some of the importance of technology.

  1. It makes our lives easier.
  2. With technology, we can do things like communicate with people all over the world, access information quickly, and automate tasks.
  3. Technology is important for economic growth. It creates jobs, improves productivity, and helps businesses compete in the global marketplace.
  4. Technology is important for education and research. It provides access to vast amounts of information and enables new discoveries. It's safe to say that technology has a big impact on our lives.
