TOPIC : Simple sentences with vowel consonant words

CONTENT : Simple sentences with vowel consonant sounds: I am up, it is an ox, it is in, it is up

 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to;

  1. Sound simple sentences with vowel consonant words
  2. Write simple sentences with vowel consonant words

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOR : Pupils can identify and sound the vowel consonant words

 

SET INDUCTION : The teachers uses the two-letter words songs to arouse the interest of the pupils 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES : Singing, storytelling, playway, gestures/demonstration,gestures, explanation and repetition 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS : Flash cards of vowel consonant words, phonics sound chart, sentence strips with vowel consonant words

PERIOD 1 AND 2: Sounding of simple sentences with vowel consonant words

The teacher revises all the vowel consonant words already treated

The teacher introduces the topic on the board as sounding of simple sentences 

The pupils listen

SOUNDING OF SIMPLE SENTENCES WITH VOWEL CONSONANT WORDS

The teacher writes the simple sentences with vowel consonant words

I am Up

It is an Ox

And pronounces each of the words individually then as a sentence, observing both the falling and rising tune repeatedly as the pupils repeats after her

The pupils respond and participate

EVALUATION

The teacher evaluates the pupils by telling them to sound the following sentence

1. I am Up

2. It is an Ox

CLASS WORK

The pupils are made to write the simple sentences with vowel consonant words             as the teacher dictates it

CONCLUSION

The teacher marks, commends and corrects the pupils where necessary
