TOPIC: DISOBEDIENCE

Meaning of disobedience:

Disobedience mean defying or breaking of rules or going against the laws of the land.

For example when the rules or the laws say that we should not steal ,fight ,cheat ,defraud ,kill or tell lies .and we do such ,we are disobedient.

God laws are in the form of commands, commandment, ordinance and statutes. When we do what God does not want us to do, we have disobeyed Him and we are disobedient.

BIBLICAL ACCOUNT OF FIRST HUMAN DISOBEDIENCE

(GEN.3:1-19)

The disobedience of Adam and Eve (Genesis 3) .The Bible tells us the first human being .Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sinned against Him.

After creating Adam and Eve ,God built a beautiful Garden for them called the Garden of Eden .They were to stay in the Garden so that they might continue God’s creative work .Every things was beautiful ,orderly and stable .Adam and Eve ruled over the animals and birds and took care of the Garden. They were both naked, but they were not ashamed of their nakedness.

There were many trees in the Garden, and God commanded Adam and Eve to eat the fruits of the entire trees except one .The exception was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil .If they eat of the fruit of that tree they would die. So, God called Adam and commanded him.

Adam and Eve obeyed God and they ate only the fruit of the tree they were told to eat; so they were righteous .One day when A dam was not round ,the devil came in the form of serpent and said to Eve .You shall not die .

The serpent told Eve that if she ate the fruit of the forbidden tree, she would not die ,She would becomes wise ,even as wise as God Himself ,and would know good and evil .Eve believed what the serpent had told her and wanted to be wise ,so she ate some of the fruits of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil .She found Adam and gave him some of the fruits ,and he also ate ;so they disobedient. Immediate they finished eating the forbidden fruit, their eyes opened and they realized that they were naked .They became ashamed of their nakedness and look fig leave to cover their bodies.

God know what Adam and Eve had done. They had broken His commandment .Therefore he called them, but they were afraid to appear before Him because they were naked because he had eaten the forbidden fruit. Adam blamed Eve for the disobedience, and Eve it turns blamed the devil .God was angry that he man and woman He had created had disobeyed Him. The offence of Adam and Eve has disturbed the good relationship that previously existed between them and God.

CONSEQUENCE OF ADAM AND EVE DISOBEDIENCE

(GEN.3:14-19)

The consequences of the disobedience of Adam and Eve were many .These consequences are as follows:

Disobedience brings sense of guilt.
Disobedience brings Evil.
Disobedience cause breakdown of Law and Order.
Disobedience bring about the loss of God’s Kingdom

LEANER (STUDENT) DISOBEDIENCE AND CONSEQUENCES.

Every day we do what are not supposed to do. We disobey the school rule and the laws in the society.

When you refuse to do your home work, you teacher will beat you.
When you cheated by copying your friends’ home work, the school authority will punished you.
When you disobeyed your parent they beat you and you suffer pain.
When you disobey school rules and regulations we are expelled from school and ruin your academic career. We become drop-outs and we bring shame to our family.
When you engage in sex before marriage you may get pregnant and stop schooling

DISOBEDIENCE AGAINST THE NATIONAL LAW

When we disobey the laws of the country there are serious consequences for us and those around us. When we go on protests which we are not suppose to do, we destroy things around us .We set cars on firs, and we destroy the property which people have worked very hard to acquire over a long period of time.

When we disobey traffic light/signal we may injure or even kill innocent persons that use the road.
