Read the passage below and answer the questions that follow;

RELIGION

Religion plays an important role in the lives of many. It guides their relationship with God and other human beings. In Nigeria, there is freedom of religion. An individual is free to choose the religion that suits him. The three major religions common among Nigerians are Christianity, Islam and Traditional Religion.

The Christians worship God and the religion is fashioned according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christians usually gather in the church to worship God,most especially on Sundays.  The reverend Father/Pastor leads the congregation into the act of worship. Christians read the Holy Bible and they follow Christ’s teachings as written in the Bible. Part of the Christian teaching is to obey God, and love one’s neighbor as one’s self. The two major festivals observed by Christians all over the world are Christmas for celebrating the birth of Jesus as well as Easter for celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

ROCKS

Rocks can be defined as the outer layer of the earth’s crust and cover. There are three types of rocks-igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. Igneous rocks are the only true rocks.

Sedimentary rocks are formed from fragments of other rocks and the remains of plants and animals that come together and become solid.

Metamorphic rocks are either igneous rocks or sedimentary rocks that have changed their form due to heat and pressure.

The commonest type of igneous rock is grantle, while chalk and limestone are examples of sedimentary rocks. Marble is a metamorphic rock. It is formed from limestone which has undergone change from heat and pressure to become marble.

Rocks are used for many things including construction, building and decorations.

THE LAGOS CENTRAL MOSQUE

Femi and Ike were still on holidays. They were in the central part of Lagos. Femi was happy showing Ike, his friend, places in Lagos. They spent about an hour watching the water fountain at the Tinubu Square. They were going back to Idumota through Nnamdi Azikiwe Street.

Suddenly, the main road was closed. Vehicles were no longer allowed to pass through the road. Ike was afraid. People were moving fast. They were hurrying to the central mosque. Femi said, “Today is Friday. It’s time for Jumat service.” Ike asked, “What’s a Jumat service?” “It’s the service of worship held by Muslims on Fridays in mosques,” Femi replied.
